Discord Rich Presence v1.5.3r Fl4sh | 2026-10-06 | 1,004 KB | Downloads: 38 App Version: v5.40 or newer Type: Extensions Target: Windows 32-bit, Windows 64-bit, Linux Needs the Discord desktop app with 'Share your detected activities with others' switched on. Source code, changelog and help on GitHub Download

Description
Shows the track you are playing in AIMP as your Discord status - like Spotify does: title, artist and album, the album cover and Discord's live progress bar ("Listening to AIMP"). I have been using AIMP for over 2 years and the Discord plugin that was available here was quite limited, so I wrote a new one from scratch. It runs on Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) and on Linux (native AIMP for Linux, as well as the Windows version of AIMP under Wine), in English, German, Russian and Ukrainian.

All options are on its own page in Preferences -> Plugins -> Discord Rich Presence (Windows and Linux), drawn by AIMP itself, so it follows your skin. The Display tab has a live preview that shows exactly what Discord will show - while you type, before you press "Apply":

Features

• Title, artist and album with Discord's live progress bar
• Album cover from your file (embedded tags or folder image - uploaded to x0.at, no account needed) or from online sources (Deezer, Apple Music / iTunes, Bandcamp, MusicBrainz, optionally Spotify / Discogs)
• Clicking the song title in Discord opens a YouTube search for the song (or your own link)
• While AIMP is paused, the presence is hidden so other activities (e.g. PreMiD) are shown - or show a "Paused" status instead
• Works out of the box - no Discord application or API key needed. Advanced users can use their own Discord application
• Customizable text with placeholders (%artist%, %title%, %album%, %playlist%, %year%, %pos%, %dur%, ...)
• Internet radio support (shows the current song of the stream, can also be hidden)
• Update check: new versions are downloaded from GitHub, checked and installed through AIMP - then AIMP is restarted so the new version is active right away

• Languages: follows AIMP's language - English, German, Russian and Ukrainian built in. The Russian and Ukrainian translations were made with the help of AI - corrections from native speakers are very welcome!

Changes since 1.4.1

• Live preview on the Display tab, cover preview on the Cover art tab (current cover and where it comes from)

• New Advanced tab (connection details, "Send test presence", "Reconnect", recent log, hide the presence for certain playlists, export / import of all settings) and About tab (update check, built-in changelog)

• Update check with automatic installation and restart of AIMP

• Languages: English, German, Russian, Ukrainian - follows AIMP's language

• AIMP 4 support (settings page, .aimppack and updates included) and, slightly limited, AIMP 3

• Local covers are uploaded to x0.at (catbox.moe currently does not work without an account); every upload is checked and another host stands in if one fails; covers Discord cannot load ("?") are repaired

• 32-bit AIMP: the live preview is drawn correctly; AIMP 4.70: no error when closing the preferences
• Settings are kept in AIMP's profile folder (portable AIMP: AIMP\Profile)

• Less than half the file size of 1.4.1, and fewer CPU wake-ups

Full changelog: CHANGELOG.md (also shown on the About tab of the plugin)

Installation

• AIMP 4, 5 and 6 (Windows and Linux): double-click aimp_discord_rpc.aimppack (or Preferences -> Plugins -> Install) - AIMP installs the plugin and picks the right build for your system

• By hand: extract aimp_discord_rpc.zip into AIMP's Plugins folder (this creates Plugins\aimp_discord_rpc\) and restart AIMP

• AIMP 3: AIMP 3 cannot install .aimppack files and has no settings page for plugins - extract aimp_discord_rpc.zip into AIMP3\Plugins\ and set the options in DiscordRPC.ini in AIMP's profile folder (created on the first start); updates have to be installed by hand

Then make sure the plugin is ticked in Preferences -> Plugins. Updating from an older version: install 1.5.3 once the same way - your settings are kept. From now on the plugin finds and installs new versions itself.
Linux: Windows AIMP under Wine connects to the Linux Discord client directly - no bridge program needed. Native Discord, Flatpak, Snap and Vesktop are detected automatically.

Requirements

• AIMP 4, 5 or 6 - Windows 32-bit / 64-bit or AIMP for Linux (x86_64); AIMP 3 with the limitations above
• Discord desktop app (the browser version cannot show Rich Presence)
• In Discord: User Settings -> Activity Privacy -> "Share your detected activities with others" must be enabled

Attached to this post:

• aimp_discord_rpc.aimppack - all platforms in one package (double-click to install)

• aimp_discord_rpc.zip - the same files as a zip for installing by hand (folder aimp_discord_rpc with the 32-bit DLL, x64 sub-folder with the 64-bit DLL, the Linux build and a description in English and Russian)

All versions are also on GitHub: releases

(Share your detected activities with others).

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome, either here in this thread or as an issue on GitHub. Translations into more languages are welcome as well. If you report a problem, the log on the Advanced tab helps a lot.

Why dont y'all like to touch UI from AIMP SDK? It works fine + has linux support

[RainBowFl4sh]

Good point. The current settings page uses plain Win32 controls which is why the Linux build only has an INI file for now. The plugin started out as Windows only and I hadn't looked into the GUI part of the SDK back then. Linux support came later. Moving the settings page to the AIMP UI API would be a lot better: Linux would get the same settings page and it would match the AIMP skin. I'll look into it for the next version or accept a pull request if someone is faster lol

Thanks for adding my Plugin to the official list that means a lot to me but please can some of the mods update the official page so it downloads 1.5 atleast so it is a lot more feature complete? From that point on users can also just update the plugin inside the "About" Tab if I make changes that users request or optimize the plugin further oh and slight issue. The Link that leads to the GitHub page

Seems to be broken and leads to https://aimp.ru/]%20https://github.com/RainBowFl4sh/AIMP-Discord-RP-v4-v6--Win32_64Bit--Linux
