convert *.AOB files

[Dimon911]

Hi,

I found in my files some old *.ISO  I tried to play it with enabled decoder with AIMP, no chance.

So I mounted it, it is an DVD with no video but with audio files inside of AUDIO_TS folder, those files have *.AOB format (Video on DVD has *.VOB).

There is no decoder for AIMP that can decode this files. The files are ~1GB large typical for DVD. I can play it with MPC.

Inside of those *.AOB's is an direct PCM (PCM_dvda) Stream with 6Ch 24bit 48kHz according to LAV Audio Decoder (0.83.0.1 -git) info

If I disable  .*lpcm or *.pcm formats of LAV  it switches from external to internal (of MPC) filter type. So this change has an impact. BUT!

Rather pcm or lpcm are supported by AIMP, at least my search give no results.

Also I tried to rename the file endings to possible pcm alternative, no success.

My final goal is to transform from this strange format to multichannel FLAC.
Thanks

AIMP cannot play this. Only SACD and Data ISO supported

For those who get similar problem: I found a solution quiet simple.

1. I copied all *.AOB files from a DVD to separate folder. Q:\6chAudio\New folder\
2. (Optional) Using CMD command inside a folder with *.AOB-Files COPY /B File1.AOB + File2.AOB + File3.AOB all_files_combined.AOB  merged separated files to one single file. Since they are bitstreams it works. Or skip this and try to convert separate *.AOB-Files
3. I used ffmpeg (https://github.com/BtbN/FFmpeg-Builds/releases).
   3a. Download and unzip ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl-shared.zip
3b. Start CMD inside ob BIN-Folder. (Type in explorer CMD and enter to open CMD there).

4. Check what is inside with command line ffprobe -hide_banner  -show_streams "Q:\6chAudio\New folder\all_files_combined.AOB"
   4a. I get Stream #0:0[0xa0]: Audio: pcm_dvda, 48000 Hz, 5.1, s32 (24 bit), 6912 kb/s
5. Convert to FLAC: ffmpeg  -threads 4 -hide_banner -i "Q:\6chAudio\New folder\all_files_combined.AOB"  -c:a flac -compression_level 6  "Q:\6chAudio\New folder\ffmpeg_audio.flac"

You have to RENAME files and disk to Yours!

Simple like This

After this steps I used AIMP Tag Editor and placed chapters manually (It could be done automatically by detecting pause by the tool, but it dosn't.)

Also I tried to use FFmpeg Encoder (https://aimp.ru/?do=catalog&rec_id=1329) since it based on same FFmpeg. This option is not working.

Encoder = convert to.
Decoder - convert/play from.

Thanks ! I mess in 90% of time with this two

But! encoder and decoder are both available in AIMPAudioConverter. See attachments. Disabled now, but if enabled make no difference with this specific file-type.
