Can albums be sorted by year in the library?

I'm new to AIMP and really like how it looks and feels, but I've been stuck at this all night long. Albums on the left column seem to be ordered alphabetically no matter what, unless you add a year field to the grouping options, which obviously I don't want to do since I want to be clicking album names rather than unnamed years.

As you can see from the picture, AIMP has no problem ordering the albums chronologically on the right side where the songs are picked, can't it do the same for the left side? I haven't found any sorting options anywhere for the left column.

Refer to grouping template's settings. Here you can define a sorting for the data.

Do you mean here? I only see options for adding new fields, not for sorting within the ones already there. I've tried looking into those sorting options in preferences, but it's a bit complicated, and everything I've tried doing there seems to have no effect on the left column sorting.

Refer to the "Used fields" group and click at columnt next to field name to select sorting direction

I see, thanks. That helps with sorting artists, as they were showing up in random order before, but it still only gives me the option to sort alphabetically. Am I missing something?

The a>z and z>a are for alphabetical sorting, the third option disables alphabetical sorting. That's what you need to use.

Thanks for info. Please check my attached image, I've tried multiple variations... And all of them show incorrect order.
So my question is - is it possible to sort albums similar like "1" from my attachment file, but sorted by year, without any "year" folders.

Are you sure your files are tagged properly?

Just specify sorting order for data in grouping preset settings

Yeah, no idea why that happens to you.
Maybe try removing everything from your music library database and re-adding it again
