1) Linux: network operations are now processed via CURL
2) Linux: AppIndicator is used for tray icon in Cinnamon / Gnome.
AppIndicator provides fewer options for actions with the tray icon (compared to the old API), but it only works on Cinnamon/Gnome under Gtk3 with Wayland. The player is still built on gtk2, but this is the first step towards migration to gtk3.
