Show Album Art at Full Size in the Default Player

When viewing album art in the default player, images with different horizontal and vertical proportions appear to be enlarged or cropped.

I would like the album art to be displayed in full, without being zoomed in or cut off. I also want to do this using only the default player, without installing any additional add-ons or extensions.

In the attached screenshot, the image on the right shows the original album art size and how I would like it to appear.

Is there a setting or method to display the full album art in the default player?

This behavior depended from used skin. It cannot be setup on app's side.
