Title: Portable AIMP issues
Post by: JesusGod-Pope666.Info on July 12, 2026, 14:55:32
So hello all, lets start vvith some pictures. VVell may not posssible to put them directly in the message but they are attached.

So i have some issues vvith my portable build, i have both 5.40 and version 6 running installing both in portable modes. But alas I have some issues.

novv the main thing vvith this, is that I found out it could run VST3, and I have a specific avvesome open source visualizer that i vvanna promote and help people find and try out and use. I found out your player is open source and had a VST3 bridge plugin and got the vizualizer vvorking - although i did not find it in the plugin section on the vvebsite so not sure if you guys have it or not in there. But Pretty neat seeing it vvorking! Actually I am pretty impressed by the design of the AIMP that many times seems very intuitive. But I do have some issues vvith my portable AIMPs, although I vvanted to run the 32 bit versions but there is no VST3 plugin bridge for that and the visualizer also only available in 64 bit I think, I could ask for a 32 bit version as vvell from the programmer and see if he vvould produce one for help on combability. Although the Foobar2000 plugin is able to run anything, 32 or 64 bit VST3 plugins on the 32 bit application of Foobar2000 vvith their VST3 bridge. Not sure hovv they did that, but it clearly vvorks....

Anyvvay, is there a vvay to make the music path use relative path like ./ or ../ or something like that to help find the files vvhen moving from one computer to another keeping it portable. Also i have some other stuff breaking, still need some more testing, i think the MIDI soundfont is loading at least, put the soundfont into the folder of bass_midi and i think it keeps it, but need more testing.

But there is a good amount that breaks as far as i can see, so anyvvay first hand, is there a vvay to added a folder or files in relative term of path. Like I have files inside the application itself to play in a folder. I vvould like to go from the app path to vvhatever i give it in regards of relative path.

I love portability, and i have made a Foobar2000 portable vvith that avvesome vizualizer, vvanted OR vvant to do the same vvith AIMP so people can easily get started trying and using it vvithout to much hazzle and setup.

This is vvhat i am doing and vvorking on by the vvay.

https://github.com/mfcc64/youtube-musical-spectrum/discussions/30 (https://github.com/mfcc64/youtube-musical-spectrum/discussions/30)

I already have vvorked on a Foobar2000 version as vvell, although they are not happy vvith me using the Foobar2000 binaries apparently and producing it.
So maybe AIMP vvill be more suited in the so called legal manners of producing something as it is open source vvithout censoring me and complaining about breaking their copyright of Distribution License and banning me from the forum.

like come on.... utter rubbish, just trying to help people setting things up that cannot figure it out themself or vvanna vvaste there time on it.

but anyvvay, maybe AIMP is an overall better choice on the legal fronts of nonsense of copyright bullshit.

But the Foobar2000 version is on that forum as vvell, I still need to sort out a little more on the AIMP Player vvhich is vvhy i am here to seek out some help on the portable issues.

Okay just a breather to think and meditate on things. Okay tested all vizualizers for the 64 bit AIMP, sadly enough the projectM plugin seem to not vvork on the non beta, although I am pretty sure I had it running formerly, but it is dead. Tried to reinstall a portable version and still nothing, it just shovvs a black screen.

so i guess I vill go vvith the beta then. Overall have 2 copies that i am using and testing and vvorking on. Although ProjectM is probably just eye candy turd yet thought it might still be cool to put it in there.

the rest of the visualizers that vvorks vvith the 64 bit version is pretty disappointed vvith vvhat seem to be lovv FPS, 60FPS should alvvays be the goal by the vvay as main stay.

anyvvay..... I have some more testing to do, and hopefully have something to put up soon. VVorking on it anyhovv. Here is a picture of it.

Anyvay.... back to it. I am going to rename both folders of the so called portable AIMP and see hovv much breaks.

Relative path is the vvay for portable, not sure if AIMP can do that for playlists and playable files.

also it seeems strange that it does read mp3 lyrics both inside the file and outside in a lrc file, yet midi karaoke files it has to have a .lrc outside to read any lyrics - not sure vvhat is going on vvith that, it seems odd.

although on the part of the vizualizer, you have one big povverful one in regards of the open source vizualizer i have at hand, so.... that could pretty much give you a good lift on that level. But it still needs a plugin bridge to vvork, but if you do make VST3 compability in the app, you have one free avvesome vizualizer at and for the player, vvhich is also opensource.

novv there is also a html version that i use for foobar, but that is made primary for foobar itself - maybe someone could even figure out hovv to make that open source plugin a valid plugin for AIMP like ProjectM, it is open source as said. But that goes beyond my capacity.

First, I need to ask you to read the forum rules. You have asked few questions in one topic that so hard to process.

I found out your player is open source

No, our app is not open source.

I could ask for a 32 bit version as vvell from the programmer and see if he vvould produce one for help on combability

You should ask the author of the VST3 bridge plugin (this is not my plugin, AIMP has built-in support for VST/VST2 only).

Anyvvay, is there a vvay to make the music path use relative path like ./ or ../ or something like that to help find the files vvhen moving from one computer to another keeping it portable.

This happens automatically if the music is stored on the same device (flash drive) as the app itself.

Tried to reinstall a portable version and still nothing, it just shovvs a black screen.

I don't know what caused this, I was just using the ready-made ProjectM engine. Apparently. There are some compatibility issues with OpenGL drivers. Anyway, we MUST discuss the plugin inside the plugin's topic, not here.

so i guess I vill go vvith the beta then

What beta-version you talking about? What its mean?

the rest of the visualizers that vvorks vvith the 64 bit version is pretty disappointed vvith vvhat seem to be lovv FPS, 60FPS should alvvays be the goal by the vvay as main stay

AIMP's fps is limited to 30, it cannot be increased because of performance and backward compatibility reason.

also it seeems strange that it does read mp3 lyrics both inside the file and outside in a lrc file, yet midi karaoke files it has to have a .lrc outside to read any lyrics - not sure vvhat is going on vvith that, it seems odd.

Can you provide me the example file there lyrics cannot be read? I failed to reproduce that on my files.

P.S. Please, create separate topic for each suggestion / question or issue. Don't post few things inside ONE topic.

vvell, library soon closing, I uploaded my so called portable version here, http://pope666.info/AIMP6pB4.zip

audio playlist breaks and some plugins breaks as vvell for the VST3. But..... as is for novv.

had a lot of disturbance on the library beside the issue on the forum of a moderator moving things around for confusion and both things made me stall.

Still need to find out if it is possible for relative path to files in the playlists, have not figure that out if possible.

anyvvay they are closing novv, I need to go, being homeless are not easy peasy.

Not sure hovv you use all the quotes and all.

1. First, I need to ask you to read the forum rules. You have asked few questions in one topic that so hard to process.
To old for that, I have a life and things to do.

2. No, our app is not open source.
Sadly found out, not sure vvere i got that from - felt it vvas a perfect match vvith the open source vizualizer, but non the less, it is able to run it, so vvill try to make something anyhovv vvith it. At some point I vill try to see if anything runs on Linux as vvell in regards of this.

3. You should ask the author of the VST3 bridge plugin (this is not my plugin, AIMP has built-in support for VST/VST2 only).
I knovv, but overall having VST3 ingrained like VST2 vvould be nice to have for sure in the in future. And I knovv i should ask the programmer of the visualizer on the 32 bit, I think i vvrote that. Might be some Russian issues from one tongue to the other and the translations.

4. This happens automatically if the music is stored on the same device (flash drive) as the app itself.
Does not seem to.... I have the music inside the AIMP folder and still have issues on the path, clearly not being relative from the app folder - and thereby it breaks every time i rename the folder or move it. So either I am doing something vvrong or it is not doing vvhat you say it should be doing.
You can use my portable made version to test vvith, i vvil see if i can make a further update today inside the library, just sitting in the Tuk tuk HOME as i can listen to some music until the battery goes dead. Sorting out some midi files.

5. I don't know what caused this, I was just using the ready-made ProjectM engine. Apparently. There are some compatibility issues with OpenGL drivers. Anyway, we MUST discuss the plugin inside the plugin's topic, not here.
Just putting out my observation, do not vvant my information all around the forum as i cannot sort that all out. My main thing is the portable version for a collection of everything. As there does not seem to be much difference of issues on the main and the beta, I vill just use the Beta, although mostly eye candy turd but, someone might vvant it so i think it vvil be fine to include it, and clearly a lot better then some of the other slovv FPS main Visualizers that vvorks directly vvith the 64 bit version.

6. What beta-version you talking about? What its mean?
AIMP 6 beta 4.

7. AIMP's fps is limited to 30, it cannot be increased because of performance and backward compatibility reason.
that is not good, you should look into upgrading it to 60 fps, that is the minimum and the svveet spot for, no need for more. 30 fps is just to slovv. Alvvays in my gaming of CS 1.6 or so, you alvvays vvanted 60 fps, no more but no less either - a clean 60 FPS and you are really good.

8. Can you provide me the example file there lyrics cannot be read? I failed to reproduce that on my files.
Did I not give the link for my version, i think it had 2 mp3 in the audio folder added inside AIMP and 1 Midi kar file, as seen one mp3 has the lyrics inside of it, and the other has a lrc file, both vvorked. But the midi file vvith the Lyrics does not vvork if you remove the lrc file. I vvill check again on the library and have a further look if i can shovv you vvith some images.

9. P.S. Please, create separate topic for each suggestion / question or issue. Don't post few things inside ONE topic.
I like to keep everything on my portable project in the one and same folder, like primary it that vvhich is being vvorked on here.

B1. So, may be this is issue of VST3 bridge?
Audio playlist is still not relative vvass my point, on the note on the VST3, it is not unusual for a bridge to not vvork vvith everything, the same vvith Foobar2000 - so not a biggie big. My main module I vvant to use do vvork, and that is the most important thing, although i have more that vvorks, i think 4 in total that is included in the ZIP of the created AIMP portable version, sorta portable.... the install of AIMP is at the very least is portable.

B2. Really? Please, read the forum rules
Yea not to happy vvhen one of the Moderators vvho made mess out of some of my messages, moving them around.1 English thread post moved into a full blovvn Russian thread, I do not read any Russian. And another post vvith information on the bridge plugin ended up in my complaint about the Russian and English mixed together. Like hovv has it any information included for that topic, removing it from the plugin section on the VST3 bridge. Makes zero sense.

B3. Still need to find out if it is possible for relative path to files in the playlists, have not figure that out if possible
I vvass in a hurry as i needed to get out of the library, but still I need to sort it out, vvhile you might have ansvvered it, it is still a thing i vvass trying to figure out and stil is an issue I need to sort out. clearly not relative just adding the files. You should be able to see the portable zip file and unpack it and the files in the playlist probably do not vvork.

I do not vvanna repeat myself, vvaste of my time, but as said and yet again tested - I have 2 mp3 files one vvith lyrics one vvith non but the one that does not have internal lyrics have a lrc file vvith it. AIMP reads the lyrics from inside the mp3 file on the first one, and the other it reads the lyrics from the lrc, as it should. seemingly doing good.

but the kar midi file i have does not play vvell, this file has combined lyrics ingrained inside the file but yet I have to add a lrc file for it to read and shovv any lyrics.

If I remove the lrc file next to the midi kar file, it does not read any lyrics - yet both combined systems of lyrics is inside the midi kar file itself, yet it does not read any of them.

attachment added and the portable version is still above dovvnloadable in the zip vvith the files in audio inside the AIMP folder.

the Amazing Grace is a midi kar file, it has all the combined lyrics in it, and yet is not read - non of my combined midi files as far as i knovv is read in the player. I can fix a file vvith 88 combined midi files if you vvanna test them out.

Here you can try this, 88 files, this is from a sorting of 10.000s midi files - all having combined lyrics inside of them. And they do not vvork, the lyrics, in the AIMP player vvithout lrc files added to them. You can shovv me these files vvork on your player, or stop gaslighting me and vvasting my time.

This vvass sorted so i figure out hovv things vvorked, and try to make my ovvn - and I have a programmer that is vvorking on things in regards of Karankan that is a lyric application to make midi kar files. I have a beta that can novv do combined lyrics, yet he Edvvard is still vvorking on the lrc files as vvell for generation so vvee have absolut compability amongst all midi lyric players. Amazing guy that fixes things, love vvhen programmers do that and take sanity to heart - making his application so much better and compatible vvith those midi karaoke players.

anyvvay.... AIMP is not loading lyrics inside Kar files, not sure if i change the files to mid or midi, I can try that and see if there vvill be any difference, but still need to be sorted out.

Nope changing them to mid or midi does not do a thing on loading any lyrics in AIMP, so..... you have a problem that needs fixing in the application.

So novv added the files and have 4 taps vvith files beside the Radio that is the only thing that probably vvill not break. All of these files are inside the AIMP folder so
they should be relative, so let me try moving the application first from one place on the USB key to another place and see if anything breaks as i think it vvill.

copy copy copy

lets open up the copied application AIMP in that other folder novv and see if vvee have the files vvorking in the playlist.

okay it looked like it vvork, but i forgot that the old path files are still there of cause, so need to get rid of those. So lets delete that folder and see if it breaks as i think it vvill.

Relative path my butthole, fix it. Clearly not vvorking as i told you. And yet you persist, typical hard headed programmers that are told about issues and yet continue closing there eyes to it or making up excuses.

1 GB, some other music stuff vvith it, some test files and lilypond files apparently, but should novv vvork vvith playlists, but i have not really tested it out.
but in theory relative path should novv vvork in playlist. But a print of vvhat I am having myself vvorking vvith.

you have the VST3 plugins as vvell in it.

https://pope666.info/AIMP6pB4-2.zip

some pictures for help, 2 vvays to enter into the VST plugin bridge that I knovv as seen on the images, the files are in the VST3 Bridge folder in Profile/Plugins/dsp_vst3_bridge - I think you vvill need to add them yourself, I vill need to see if i can get the programmer of the VST3 Bridge on it. Or have the AIMP programmer fix an internal VST3 bridge in the app itself. But for novv.... as is. Enjoy.

by the vvay pushing the vvorking config vvheel in the VST3 bridge plugin, some times needs some pushes to enter the VST3 bridge screen, just push it some times and it should come up.

So for a further help on it, push the AIMP logo top left to enter the menu, Push Sound Effects, Push DSP/VST2, Push the config vvheel in the plugin if not vvorking the first time push a couple of times, you can then add the VST3 plugin files to it and enjoy the avvesome open source vizualizer, although i have included 4 vvorking VST3 PLugins.

some minor other plugins are added to AIMP, I took vvhat i found to be the best vvorking. Not really toyed much around vvith the lyrics plugin, although i had an issue from the very beginning. So I have just focused on the main lyric function of the AIMP application itself. Some of the KAReoke files have lrc files so they vvork, but many of the KAR files that should vvork does not, as AIMP apparently do not find any of the lyrics in the KAR files themself and there are at least 2 options it could retrive as being hybrid lyric files.

Not sure if it is possible, vvell everything should be possible - just a matter of programming. But vvhat about having the lit stay on vvhen you are in the settings vvindovv and it is open. Like you do on the replay button and the shuffle button, like that also vvould indicate to the user if he goes into it by the menu, that that button novv lit up to actually help the user find out there is a direct button to it in the graphical player itself and one less click to do to enter it by.

same vvith the timing, like if the vvindovv is open it should lid up indicating it is open. I think..... just a thought keeping it a little more consistent as vvell.

the radio record seems to be blinking vvhen recording, so that seems to be fine shovving it is active and doing something.

and if anything is confusing on this thread you can thank the moderator for censuring me and making a mess out of everything. I am close to leaving vvith this rubbish going on, like i sit here and use my time and vvrite out stuff for fun to just have it deleted.

No, we will not to do that. AIMP is not a game, it just music player, it MUST NOT use all GPU and CPU resources for it work. Also, it limitation is required for backward compatibility with old skins and plugins.

No, we will not to do that. AIMP is not a game, it just music player, it MUST NOT use all GPU and CPU resources for it work. Also, it limitation is required for backward compatibility with old skins and plugins.

60 FPS is not to much, like vvee vvhere running 60 FPS over 10 years ago in counter strike, or vvass it 20 years ago - so please stop the nonsense of resources here, vvee are talking about mere plugins and living in 2026. Like most stuff runs in total overkill of 120 and more FPS and Hz.

seriously drop your programmer insanity of bad excuses and get going fixing 60 FPS support. Like many of those plugins I tried vvass looking so slovv in reaction to the music, it might be other things then the FPS, but surely the FPS most likely vvill help on it. Any plugin should at least be able to reach 60 FPS, it does not need more, but 60 FPS is the clear cut golden medal for keeping the speed not to fast and smoothness of quality.

vvee are not living in 1994 - 2026 I think it is, it seems vvindovvs agrees, Roman Time. Like limitations..... like if the system cannot handle 30 FPS, or the screen is running 30 Hertz just limit it by the Hertz it is running if it cannot do 60 FPS, or make an option for 30 FPS and 60 FPS to choose from if it is such a big issue for you.

Like 60 FPS is the gold medal, that should be your target for plugins, 30 FPS and for a music player, is to little for smooth visualization, it makes a difference.

I have heard lots of excuses from programmers - I have also found out, you just don't take there vvords as solid many times.
Like there are vvays, and 30 FPS is to little for plugins. 60 FPS is the goal.

there must be a vvay, there usually is. I vvill not accept excuse about 30 FPS, that should clearly be 60 FPS for plugins. You are the programmer, meditate and figure out something.

above 60 FPS is unnecessary, but it should be able to do a stable and consistance of 60 FPS - figure out something.

I don't think so. AIMP is not a game, it is audio player that should work even on low-cost hardware and should use not so much system resources.

I don't think so. AIMP is not a game, it is audio player that should work even on low-cost hardware and should use not so much system resources.

like, 60 FPS today is nothing. Can't you make it into an option and still have backvvard combability for older hardvvare if they struggle vvith it. Like seriously people are today running up to 240Hz, and thereby 240 FPS is possible. You do not need more then 60 FPS, as said the 60 FPS has alvvays been the smooth spot. I knovv this from the days of old, long long ago.

Like it has to react fast to the music, and 60 FPS just helps vvith making things look smooth, does not matter if it is a game or not, you can see it and in some sense feel it as vvell. It makes it so much more lively and real.

Just vvanted to ping you.

I have just gone through the hybrid 88 MIDI/Kar files again, finding some more flavvs and refined the collection, dovvn to 73 novv.

You can test them in your player, those vvho does not have a lrc next to them, do not vvork vvith your audioplayer on shovving lyrics and needs fixing. Test out yourself and sort it out. these MIDI KAR files are hybrid, thereby making them vvork on more players - sorted from 10.000s of existing files on the internet. To reconstruct the combability, to shovv it is possible and so i can end up making them myself vvith the same compability across lyric midi-kar players.

By the vvay, ProjectM in the AIMP beta has a graphical issue at the top, trying to take a picture on Virus 11, but as alvvay issues vvith this stinking system of depravity. Like vvho vvould think you vvould ever have an issue taking a freaking screenshot.....

anyvvay there is a line at the top. ONLY seems to happen in fullscreen mode. Might be my drivers or vvho knovvs. Not a huge biggie, just pointing it out.

It seems to be at the top vvhere the AIMP line goes in non fullscreen mode, but it does not look good in fullscreen and does seem something is vvrong, sadly, sorry i cannot take a screenshot as this Virus 11 is full of demonic nonsense that have its ovvn evil life. It just vvon't do it at the moment. Like MegaSUCKS really made their utmost depraved system vvith vvindovvs 11, I so much hate it.
