Title: a indicator for bitrate
Post by: ncd on April 30, 2026, 18:48:34
in the skin it would be neat if we could see
total internet throughput, cpu usage, ram usage, etc.
and
current bit rate (not allocated buffer) / IO thread status

It seems to be very technical information. What reason is there to show it to regular users?

Hi just to say we are not all regular users, some of us are Technicians, and Admins, Tweakers, Tinkers etc..

For me I would appreciate the functionality to see the health of the buffer in terms of filling, overrun and underrun, BER (basic error rate), and network throughput of a stream etc, processor and ram usage are just generally useful.. for example I found the Skin called Black Onyx and its ACS file on deviantart .. so this skin is fantastic, i can learn how the skin system works now and i can make the changes i see fit, but you will notice with this skin that it repeats certain design elements because it does not have any thing else to show, so it shows the Track Position twice for example, these small repetitions waste screen space where useful functionality could be albeit for more technical people..

Hope this clarifies.
