Title: Can't find LAME encoders
Post by: Josceyano on April 10, 2026, 17:36:01
Hello. I sometimes play music from web, it works fine usually, but I've got problem with getting meta tags when urls have LAME tag encoding. For example: using `ffprobe` on url gets me info `'tags': {'encoder': 'LAME3.92 '},`.

I can't download it from website: `https://aimp.ru/?do=catalog&id=2&os=desktop&V=0&F1=0&F2=0&keywords=LAME` and haven't got in Plugins -> Encoders in the program itself.

Is there any workaround for this to read such tags?

The player already includes libLAME.dll, so the old method of installing a plugin (console encoder) is no longer relevant.

The only alternative left is the console encoder.

If you need lame for use outside of the player, you will have to look on other sites.

The decoder, not the encoder, is responsible for reading files. So, it's unclear why you were looking for a plugin.

If you have problems reading tags, create a new thread using the section rules. You'll need to provide example links, the exact player version and OS, indicate which plugins are active in the player, and whether the system decoder option is enabled.
