I'm trying to have a grouping panel similar to what Musicbee has (attachment screenshot), that would be displayed next to the folder tree.
If that's not possible, there's grouping option in the same place on the left (I'm using standard Bliss skin) - c an I make AIMP to display files only within the chosen folder? Right now when I group by any tag, it shows me grouped files from my whole library.

Refer to app settings \ Music Library and uncheck the "always show content of subfolders" option

I probably could explain it better. I actually prefer for it to show the subfolder content, but only when I have it set as No Grouping. When I pick a specific folder (my library is organised by genres) only then I want to see it grouped by artist (only artists within the specific genre folder would display). The screenshot above shows Musicbee panel acting as a filter that is applied to the currently chosen folder on the far left panel.

In our case, the tree provides the grouping criteria. May be, you need to create a custom grouping template for your case

I'll definitely give it a shot. Should I set up a thread in Suggestions asking for this feature, or wouldn't it be considered? This solution is pretty popular in other players, and filtering is already there. It would take its functionality in a form of a list panel (turned on optionally) rather than checking the boxes in the main columns window.
