Title: Use the Crystalizer enhancer in Linux
Post by: rado84 on April 03, 2026, 13:02:58
Since neither pulseaudio or ALSA are the motherboard's manufacturer's driver, we in Linux have to resort to some enhancements. One such enhancement is the "Crystalizer" and AIMP could use it too. Just a little of it, but still it would make things A LOT better!

usr/lib/audacious/Effect/crystalizer.so

I suppose you could find a way to incorporate the crystalizer.so (it has a small dialog with settings, mind you) in AIMP's plugins.

I know you're making it mostly for debian but here's the thing: only the package names are different. What's inside them is the same for all distros. That's why I'm giving you the link to the audacious-plugins from Arch Linux - the contents of this package is the same for all distros.

I don't think that is must-have feature in AIMP for Linux, since there is EasyEffects (https://github.com/wwmm/easyeffects) for PipeWire. It has Crystalizer plugin among others. Also there are a lot of different community presets. For example I like Loudness Equalization (https://github.com/Digitalone1/EasyEffects-Presets).
