Title: Displaying Station Name alongside Track Metadata on Lockscreen and Android Auto
Post by: McLovin on March 29, 2026, 11:21:40
System Environment:
Device: Poco X6 5G
OS: Android 16 (HyperOS 3.0.3.0)
AIMP Version: 4.05.1673 (Latest)
Android Auto: Updated to the latest version

The Issue:
I am using AIMP for Android to stream radio stations from a custom .m3u playlist. My playlist is structured as follows:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Deep House Radio
https://streaming-01.xtservers.com:7000/encoder.mp3

On the Lockscreen (Media Control Notification) and Android Auto display, AIMP currently shows only the dynamic metadata (Artist - Song) sent by the stream. Once the metadata starts flowing, the static name of the station (Deep House Radio) disappears completely, being overwritten by the track info.

What I want to achieve:
I would like to have a two-line display in the system notification and car display where:
Line 1 (Title): Displays the current track/show from the stream metadata (e.g., Artist - Song).
Line 2 (Artist/Album): Displays the fixed Station Name from the playlist (e.g., Deep House Radio).

What I have tried:
I have looked into Settings > Interface > Player > Text Formatting, but I am having trouble getting these specific external displays (Android system notifications and Android Auto) to respect two separate data fields (Metadata vs. Station Name).

Since HyperOS 3.0 (Android 16) handles media notifications differently, is there a specific macro or template configuration (like %StationName% or %File%) that I should use in the Notifications formatting section to ensure the station name remains visible on the second line?

My questions:

Does AIMP support sending the Station Name as the Album or Artist tag to the Android Media Session so it shows up consistently on the second line in the car display?

Is there a way to prevent the dynamic metadata from completely overwriting the playlist-defined station name in the Media Session?

Any advice on how to configure the templates or the .m3u file to keep the station identity visible would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I would like to have a two-line display in the system notification and car display where:

Line 2 (Artist/Album): Displays the fixed Station Name from the playlist (e.g., Deep House Radio).

I afraid it impossible to setup now. Due playback, player displays track's metadata instead of station one.
I've moved your topic to suggestions section of the forum.
