How many of you guys using AIMP not only for playing music but creating and organizing your music library.
I'm a collector and at the moment my library counts over 500k of tracks, which makes Local.adb file bigger than 210Mb and it keeps bigger day by day...
In general, I'm putting AIMP at the top of the list among music players, hands down, but on the other hand, I have to admit that with a large database this player is almost unusable... Frequent freezing, crushing, nonresponsive control due to high CPU usage... :(
I was pointing out this problem several times but haven't got any big feedback supposing that there are not so many users with such a big database.
After different testing, my assumption is that the main issue is with the way of reading from the AIMP database, taking into consideration that the player runs smoothly whenever the library file (Local.adb) is detached.. no bugging, nor unresponsive behavior regardless of file location, internal or external Hard Drive...
Just wanted to double-check is it time for upgrading the machine or keep on finding workarounds in order to have a nicely done music collection...
Currently, I'm running i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz and 8Gb of RAM

210 MB is not large database. Please, report about each issue according to forum rules.

The "Find the files" action is about scanning the file system. Please, try to reproduce an issue on this build: https://disk.yandex.ru/d/f6PBlZY7s3Us6Q As soon as app will find the files, run this tool: https://disk.yandex.ru/d/LChU4E7zjYuf8 It will dump state of the app.

I did it.. its still slow.. 5 albums (54 files) importing.. over 10 min..
Can't play songs without lagging .. what "madTraceProcess32.exe" does ? :-\

It will dump state of the app.

... report sent inbox... pls update me.. thanks

Thanks. It seems the file system response is so slow while player trying to find missed files. Try to switch off this function. Is it solve the issue?

It was always OFF.. doesn't help...
I'm on version 4.7 again... another bigger issue is manipulation with the files and the payer itself.
As you've seen, the player always lagging and crushing..
.. looks like my guessing is true, very few people is having such a large database, the player works perfectly only when it's not reading data directly from the database..

I see no one crash in your video
-
... *crash.. mistyped..
You can see when I play a song, certain time gots to pass until I can do anything further.. play another song, rate, volume up.. waveform gets stuck, and if just touch player it will pop up that ”not response" message...
Just trying to help.. would like to hear anyone else with bigger library.. I'm unclear is it because of my configuration or something else...
-
This is not a crash. Player just waiting while music library will responde. As I see in log, music library works slowly because of file system performance.
