Title: Give Rating in ID3v2.3 header higher priority over Rating in Music Library?
Post by: thoste on October 25, 2020, 11:08:36
Assume I have a playlist with a aaaa.mp3 song.
The Rating in AIMP playlist for this aaa.amp3 songs shows 5 stars and ID3v2.3 header contains an equivalent rating value of 5 stars (check with  Mp3tag tool).

Now I changed the physical file name of this aaaa.mp3 file to bbbb.mp3 and dragged it again to the same playlist.

Much to my surprise the new entry shows only 2 stars!

Why?

I guess its because the music library contains some odd values of only 2 stars.

How can I tell AIMP to ALWAYS give the Rating value in ID3v2.3 header a higher priority over Music Library data?
AIMP should forget/ignore all Ratings in its Music Library.
If the ID3v2.3 header does not contain a Rating value or even has no ID3 header then 0 stars should be shown in playlists.

I think enabling enabling this option only means
"store NEW Rating into Music Library"

But what about the existing ratings? They are not updated in Music Library.

How can I force AIMP to write the currently visible Rating stars (derived (possibly) from ID3v2 tag) even for already existing songs into Music Library?

AIMP always store rating in music library, so rating imports from file tags on file adding only
