Title: Lyrics Window - Always Show?
Post by: urgatorbait on August 12, 2020, 20:19:41
Is there a way to have the lyrics window always show - as in being another panel in the main UI?  I'm not a fan of the separate window, docked or undocked.  I'd like it to open and close with the app automatically and not necessarily take up the entire height of the app when it's docked on the right.  Is this possible?  Thanks so much.

What version of AIMP do you have?  I am using AIMP 4.70 build 2224 with a slightly altered from default Bliss 4K skin.  I can dock the Information Box at any height to my already-docked-to-player playlist window and it does open and close with the app and maintain the height it was set at.  The OS is Windows 10 1909.

I'm using the same exact version as you.  Windows 10 64 bit build 19041.  I've been trying lots of different skins but I've been sticking with A4 Electron!ck version 1.3.4.

I am not sure how you are getting it to behave this way.  I even loaded the same skin as you (Bliss 4k) but it behaves the same as the A4 one.  One of the images below shows the Lyric/Information window docking options.  How do you have yours set.  I am unable to get it to be anything but the full height of my screen - AND - whenever I open any other program of maximize an app from my task bar, it will never overlay just the lyric window.  It's as if it's a completely separate entity from the rest of the program.  And it seems to be docking to my desktop and not the rest of the AIMP application.

I posted a few other screen shots to show what it's doing if that helps.  Thanks again!

Guess you can only attach one file so here's the one that matters most (I think).

Ok, I think what's going on is that I had the AIMP window set to maximized (as I like to do with all my programs).  But when I set it to not be full screen - i.e. window not maximized, then I can get the lyric window to attach itself to the main window and then it will go to the taskbar and back up again altogether.

My dock settings are set to "undock" on all windows, and in Options/Interface/Skins I have "Snap windows to screen edges and other AIMP's windows" checked.  Then I just separately resize the windows to what I want, dock them together, and they stay that way even when exiting/restarting.  I DO wish that the Information Box window could be resized "thinner" than it currently can.  Pic attached showing the docked windows.

^^^^ THIS!  I agree 100%.  Then I could have more real estate to show more columns in the other windows without having to scroll to see them.  That's be a great change.

And thanks for the details you provided and the screen shots.  I think I'm getting close to having things the way I want but some of those things I don't think are possible.
