Hi, first of all, thanks for replying.
I'm guessing that this is what you meant. I've un-associated .wav files from AIMP. However, the problem is, when I mass import a folder mixed with .mp3 and .wav, everything is still added to the library.
It doesn't quite make sense to me that I'm unable to decide what file types to be imported from within the application itself.
Also why is part of my reply cropped out after I submit?
"that I'm unable to decide what file types to be imported from within the application itself."
This is supposed to be behind "doesn't quite make sense to me..."

What my intended post is https://ibb.co/dhXqm8.
What is actually posted is https://ibb.co/mfJVm8.
I suspect this weird behavior because I'm using google translate on the site.
What your documentation looks like https://ibb.co/hZp9eT, with the checkbox.

Oh, I think I must update the screenshot. Dialog that displayed here was available for Windows XP in one of old versions. New Windows version forces applications to use system dialog for file associations

This is the screenshot I attached previously https://ibb.co/ku2NZT, in which I changed the default application for .wav files to be VLC.
However, when I import from my folder .wav files are still imported.

What you exactly mean here? When you double click on these files it still opened in AIMP?

No, I don't mean clicking on the files to play them. I mean operating within AIMP. In my folder, there is a bunch of mp3 files of actual songs, and a bunch of .wav files for some sound effects. If you know about OSU! you'll know what I mean.
What I do to import the folder: https://ibb.co/m0QHZT.
And as you can see, there is a bunch of .wav files of 1 seconds https://ibb.co/hQEBuT. Obviously, I don't want to listen to these 1 second sound effects, that's why I'm looking for a way for AIMP to stop importing any other format other than .mp3.
Hopefully, that cleared up of what I'm trying to achieve here.

Why you think that file associations should be related to what file formats are supported by the player? This releates only for integration with Windows Explorer. Answering to your question, AIMP have no ability to filter folder's content by extension during one or few folders adding. But you can index all your files with Music Library and filter the content in it.

I see. I guess I expected the file associations to have the 'filtering' functionality which apparently isn't the case here.
Thanks for all the replies anyways.

Exactly what I needed. I should have made my case clearer from the beginning. Thanks for the help!
